Current Volunteering Opportunities:

Constant Comfort Fort McMurray Food Festival

Time Commitment: 3-6 hours

Waypoints is the choice charity for the Fort McMurray Food Festival and we need volunteers!  We have three different events to choose from with positions varying from bartender to 50/50 to regististration desk…and many more.

Rural Family Fun Days

Time Commitment: 4-8 hours

Waypoints’ Outreach team is hosting a few family fun events throughout Wood Buffalo.  We will be hosting these events in Janvier, Anzac, Fort McKay and Conklin.  We would love to have you come out to volunteer with us.  Transportation is available.

Facilitator Required – Yoga Instructor
Time Commitment: 4-8 hours per month
We are looking for a yoga instructor to facilitate a small class in our Compass facility.
Security clearance and vulnerable section clearance required.

Facilitators Required – Various Programs
Time Commitment: 4-8 hours per month
We are currently looking for facilitators for small classes out of our Compass facility.  Examples of these classes would be craft classes (candles, salt scrubs, knitting, crocheting, etc.), cooking/baking classes, or any other wellbeing classes.

Future Volunteering Opportunities:

At Waypoints we cannot function without the support of our amazing volunteers!  If you would be interested in volunteering in the future please see below for possible volunteering positions.

  • Manning a booth
  • Sharing info about the centre
  • Registration desk
  • Food service
  • Grilling hamburgers and hotdogs
  • Setting up tables for a banquet
  • Organising a silent auction
  • Cashier
  • Moving material and belongings to and from the shelter (access to a truck required)
  • Distributing and putting up posters around town
  • Photography and video
  • Spring lawn clean-up
  • Other fundraising activities
